Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026 fall on November 27 and November 30
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30, with Cyber Week running November 26 to 30 according to Printify's 2026 Black Friday date guide. Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 26, per KidsAround's 2026 date roundup. A BFCM reviews checklist has two halves: every top seller needs visible proof before traffic arrives, and your review requests need to be re-timed before the orders from that traffic start shipping.
The scale is worth planning around. Shopify merchants sold a record $14.6 billion over BFCM 2025, up 27% year over year, with more than 81 million shoppers and an average cart of $114.70, as reported by Mobiloud in its 2026 Shopify statistics roundup. For 2026, Adobe forecast on September 28, 2026 that US online holiday sales will reach $275.1 billion, with Cyber Week driving $47.5 billion, up 7.4% year over year, in Adobe's holiday forecast release.
What the BFCM reviews checklist covers, week by week
The BFCM reviews checklist below is operational, not strategic: four dated phases, each with a concrete output. Work backward from November 27.
| Phase | What you do | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 6 to 8 weeks out | Audit top sellers for review count, rating and media | No bestseller sells with an empty widget |
| 2 to 4 weeks out | Push ratings into ads, feeds and landing pages | Stars visible before the click |
| Nov 26 to 30 | Monitor reviews, questions and page speed | Fast replies on the highest-traffic days |
| Dec 1 onward | Re-time requests to actual delivery | Requests that land after the parcel does |
| January | Collect from gift recipients | Q1 reviews on holiday bestsellers |
Phases of the checklist and what each one produces.
Six to eight weeks out: audit every top seller's product page
The product page audit is the only part of this work that cannot be rushed in the final week, because reviews take time to arrive. Pull your 20 to 30 bestselling SKUs, open each product page as a shopper, and record three things.
- Review count and star rating on the page, not in your admin. A product with two reviews reads as untested next to one with forty.
- At least one photo or video review visible without clicking through. Cosmetics, clothing tops and pants, activewear, and fitness and nutrition were the top BFCM 2025 categories per Mobiloud, and all four sell on seeing the real thing.
- Unanswered questions. Anything sitting open on a bestseller in November will be read by thousands of people in one weekend.
Fill the gaps two ways. Import history you already own from a CSV, which Quoli supports on any plan, and send catch-up requests now to buyers from the past few months so the reviews land before the sale. Quoli is a Shopify product reviews app, and its requests go out by email, link, QR code and the on-site form; manual requests let you target exactly the SKUs that came back thin in the audit. If reviews are stranded in another app, see how to move Shopify reviews without losing them.
Add review attributes to the form while you are in there. Fit, skin type or taste answers collected in October become filters shoppers use in November.
Two to four weeks out: the Shopify social proof checklist for BFCM
In the three weeks before Cyber Week, social proof stops being a product page job and becomes a traffic job. Adobe expects discounting to play a major role in driving purchases this season, as covered by Inside Audio Marketing, which means your discount looks like everyone else's unless proof is attached to it.
- Turn on the Google Shopping feed and Meta catalog ratings so stars show on paid and free listings before spend ramps. Quoli includes both from the Growth plan, and the mechanics are in Google Shopping star ratings for Shopify stores.
- Build creative from reviews you already have. Quoli's UGC Ads turns every published 4 and 5 star review into a ready-to-run ad in Square, Portrait and Story sizes with your logo, colors and call to action, which is the fastest route to Shopify UGC for holiday sales when the studio calendar is full.
- Put a reviews carousel or UGC wall on every landing page built for the sale, not only on product pages. The Home Carousel in the widgets library works on your home page or any other page, in eight styles.
- Place one real customer line next to the buy button. Quoli's Nuggets show a single sentence from a review that shoppers can tap to read in full. On Shopify Plus stores, Checkout Star Ratings and Checkout Reviews carry stars and reviews, or nuggets on Growth and up, into checkout's order summary.
- Stage urgency copy next to the proof, not instead of it. A deal countdown or low-stock line sits better above a 4.8 average from 300 buyers than on its own.
- Check your answers. Q&A on bestsellers is pre-sale support that scales; product Q&A is on every Quoli plan, including free.
November 26 to 30: watch reviews, questions and page speed in real time
Cyber Week is when a single unanswered complaint gets maximum exposure. Peak sales hit $5.1 million per minute at 12:01 PM EST on Black Friday 2025 on Shopify, according to Ringly's 2026 statistics roundup, and that traffic reads your worst review as readily as your best.
Put one person on the review and question inbox for each day of the weekend with a target of replying inside the day. Quoli Intelligence (QI) drafts replies and answers on Advanced and up, and its confidence check screens reviews that would auto-publish for abusive wording; nothing goes live until your team publishes it. For the wording itself, use how to respond to negative reviews on Shopify rather than improvising at 11pm.
Page speed matters more than usual because mobile transactions are projected to hit 57.4% of total seasonal spend in 2026, per Adobe's peak season guidance. Load a product page on a phone on a throttled connection in the week before the sale and count how many widgets fire. Quoli's widgets ship as theme app blocks and the app carries Shopify's Built for Shopify badge, awarded in April 2026, but any store should still test its own theme under load.
After Cyber Monday: re-time review requests to match delayed delivery
Automated review requests timed to normal fulfillment are the single most common December mistake, because December is not normal. USPS holiday pricing runs from October 4, 2026 to January 17, 2027, UPS peak season starts October 25 and FedEx October 26, with both running into mid-January, per ShippyPro's 2026 peak season shipping guide. UPS's 2026 year-end schedule lists Monday, December 21 as the recommended last ship day for delivery by December 24, as summarized by Dessence, and USPS publishes its own cutoffs on the 2026 holiday shipping deadlines page. A request that fires three days after fulfillment will reach a buyer whose parcel is still in a sort facility.
Three fixes, in order of effort:
- Trigger on delivery, not fulfillment. Quoli can wait for the carrier tracking on Shopify orders to say delivered, and orders never marked delivered are asked 30 days after their last update. Tracking integrations like AfterShip and Track by Loop feed the same signal. The mechanics are in automatic review collection after delivery.
- If you cannot trigger on delivery, add a week. Push the BFCM order cohort's delay out by five to seven days over your usual setting and leave the reminder at its normal gap behind it.
- Hold gift orders. Anything bought as a present should not be asked about until January, which is the next section.
Acknowledging the delay in the email itself costs nothing and raises response rates on a cohort that already knows shipping was slow.
Subject: Your order arrived. How did it go? We waited to ask until tracking showed your parcel at the door, so if the carrier took longer than usual this December, this note did too. Two minutes and a photo of it in real life is all we need.
Then plan for the volume. A BFCM cohort means more requests, more replies and more photo and video submissions arriving in one week than your team handles in a normal month. Draft replies with QI, batch moderation into two fixed slots a day rather than reacting all day, and watch the request funnel from delivered to reviewed in analytics, which is on every Quoli plan, so you can see whether the delay you set is actually landing after delivery.
January: turn holiday buyers and gift recipients into Q1 reviewers
Gift recipients are the reviewers nobody asks. The buyer of a December order often never uses the product, so a request sent to the purchaser gets silence while the person who actually wore, tasted or used it never hears from you. Send a January email to the holiday cohort that asks the buyer to forward it, and keep the review link open to whoever clicks.
Subject: Did this one go under the tree? If you gave it as a gift, forward this to whoever opened it. We would rather hear from the person using it. Any honest review, whatever the rating, gets the same thank you.
Incentives are allowed if they are not tied to sentiment. The FTC's final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials passed on a 5-0 vote and took effect October 21, 2024, per Alston & Bird's advisory, and the same advisory notes penalties of $51,744 per violation. Businesses can still offer discounts, coupons and contest entries in exchange for reviews so long as they do not request a specific sentiment, as Freshfields explains. The rule also forbids suppressing or selectively displaying reviews based on negative sentiment or rating, and the FTC took its first enforcement step under the rule on December 22, 2025, according to Crowell & Moring.
In practice: offer the same reward for a one-star review as a five-star one, never condition it on tone, and publish the critical ones. Quoli's Review Authenticity Policy sets the same rules, and rewards for text, photo and video reviews are available on paid plans, which start at $10 a month with a 14-day trial. The core widgets, Q&A and attributes are on the free forever plan.
Frequently asked questions
When exactly is BFCM 2026?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30, 2026, with Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26 and Cyber Week running November 26 to 30, per Printify's and KidsAround's 2026 date guides.
How far in advance should I request reviews before Black Friday?
Start six to eight weeks out. Audit your top 20 to 30 SKUs, import any review history you already own, and send catch-up requests to recent buyers so new reviews have time to arrive, be moderated and appear on the page before traffic does.
How long after Cyber Monday should I wait to send a review request?
Trigger on delivery rather than a fixed number of days. USPS holiday pricing runs October 4, 2026 to January 17, 2027 and UPS and FedEx peak seasons run into mid-January, so parcels take longer than usual. If you cannot use delivery triggers, add five to seven days to your normal delay for the BFCM cohort.
Is it legal to offer a discount for a holiday review?
Yes, if the incentive is not tied to what the review says. Freshfields notes the FTC's rule permits discounts, coupons and contest entries in exchange for reviews as long as a specific sentiment is not requested, and the rule also bars suppressing reviews because they are negative.
What social proof should be live on a Shopify store before the sale starts?
Star ratings in Google Shopping and Meta catalog listings, a reviews carousel or UGC section on every sale landing page, at least one photo or video review on each bestseller, answered questions on top SKUs, and a customer line next to the buy button.
How do I handle the review volume after BFCM without falling behind?
Batch moderation into two fixed slots a day, use AI reply and answer drafts that your team approves before publishing, and watch the delivered-to-reviewed funnel in analytics so you can see whether your request timing is landing after delivery.
