Fashion has one question that most other categories can skip: will it fit? Shoppers cannot try anything on, so the product page has to do the work of a fitting room. The eight brands below answer that question in different ways, from reviewers' own height and size to model measurements and plain-spoken size advice.
We looked at each storefront and noted what is worth borrowing for your own product pages.
Cuts Clothing
Cuts Clothing sells premium basics for men and women. Its best-sellers carry thousands of reviews, and each review card shows the reviewer's body type, height, usual size and the size they bought, with a fit scale from tight to loose. Beside the size picker, a model line gives the model's height, weight and size, with a link to the size guide.
What to borrow: fit details on every review, so shoppers can find someone built like them.
Vuori
Vuori puts the star rating and review count right under the product name, next to the price. Find My Size and size chart links sit above the size buttons, and the review section adds a fit scale from runs small to runs big. Beyond the store, its ACTV Club offers free online classes and in-person events.
What to borrow: proof at the top of the page, where shoppers look before they scroll.
Buck Mason
Buck Mason keeps its product pages spare. A size and fit guide sits beside the size picker, shoppers can check store availability near them, and pages state the 365-day return window. Product copy also says where things are made: the Toughknit tee is knit in Pennsylvania and sewn in Los Angeles.
What to borrow: short, specific answers to the questions shoppers ask before they buy.
Saturdays NYC
Saturdays NYC lists the model's height and size on each product page, next to a link to its size guide. Every product page closes with a short note on the brand, which was founded in SoHo in 2009.
What to borrow: the brand story on every product page, not only on the About page.
Allbirds
Allbirds gives sizing advice right under the size buttons, telling shoppers when a style tends to run small and suggesting they size up. A fit guide link and a men's and women's size toggle sit alongside.
What to borrow: plain sizing advice at the moment a shopper picks a size.
Outdoor Voices
Outdoor Voices gives reviews and questions their own tabs on each product page. Reviews can show the reviewer's height, usual size, how the piece fit and the size they bought.
What to borrow: a dedicated place for shopper questions, so answers are easy to find.
Reformation
Reformation lists the model's measurements under Fit and details, links its size and fit guide and adds a short line on how each style fits. Every product also shows its RefScale, which compares the item's environmental footprint with typical clothing.
What to borrow: one distinctive detail on every product, presented the same way each time.
Boyish
Boyish lists front rise, inseam and leg opening in its product copy, with a size guide link above the waist sizes. For denim, where a small difference in rise changes the whole fit, garment measurements answer what a size label cannot.
What to borrow: garment measurements for products where fit is everything.
What these brands have in common
Every brand on this list answers the fit question somewhere on the product page. The strongest pages answer it twice: once in the brand's voice, with model sizes, measurements and a size guide, and once in customers' voices, with reviewers' height, usual size and how the piece actually fit.
Quoli attributes add that second voice to your reviews. Reviewers can answer How does it fit? with Runs small, True to size or Runs large, and About the customer questions, such as usual size, show under the reviewer's name. Shoppers can filter reviews by up to four About the customer questions, so they can find reviewers like them.
