This guide takes you from install to live reviews: installing the app, adding widgets to your theme, setting up review requests and the settings worth checking in your first month.
Quoli's storefront widgets are Shopify theme app blocks. You add them in the theme editor like any other section, there is no code to paste into your theme, and nothing is left behind in your theme code if you remove the app.
Install from the Shopify App Store
Open Quoli on the Shopify App Store, click Install and approve the permissions Shopify shows you. Quoli opens inside your Shopify admin.
Follow the setup guide
Quoli's Home page has a setup guide that lists every step to go live, from activating the app embed to scheduling your review requests and applying your brand to emails and forms. Mark each step done as you go. The recommended steps, like importing reviews or rewarding photo reviews, are optional.
Bring your existing reviews
Moving from another reviews app? You can import reviews from a CSV file on any plan, and on Starter and up our team moves your reviews for you with their photos and videos. Import before you style your widgets, so the previews show your real reviews.
Add widgets to your theme
Open Online Store, then Themes, then Customize. Under App embeds, activate the Quoli Core Script, which loads the widgets and adds rating data to your product pages for search. Then go to a product page and add Quoli blocks to the product template.
- Product Star Ratings: under the product title, so shoppers see it first.
- Nuggets Slider: beside the buy button, with short quotes from your reviews (Growth and up).
- PDP Reviews Widget: below the description. It shows reviews, questions or both, with customer photos and videos.
- Home Carousel: on your homepage, in styles from review cards to a photo wall.
Common mistake: Adding every widget on day one. Start with star ratings and the reviews widget, then add the rest once you can see what each one does.
Set up review requests
Open Settings, then Collect and publish. By default, the first request goes out 7 days after fulfillment and a reminder follows 2 days later. You can start the clock at purchase, fulfillment or delivery instead, with a delay of up to 30 days, so customers have time to use the product.
Enable the photo request too. It is off by default, and it asks customers who left a text-only review to add a photo or video. Quoli records orders placed after you install, so to ask earlier customers, use manual review requests: every plan includes 50 a month.
Each email has its own template under Settings, then Emails, so you can match the wording and look to your brand. Rewards, on Starter and up, are discount codes that can differ for text, photo and video reviews.
Choose what publishes automatically
By default, reviews from four stars up publish on their own and the rest wait for your team. Change the rule to suit your store. On Advanced and Unlimited plans, the QI confidence check also holds reviews with abusive wording for a person to look at.
Connect Klaviyo and Shopify Flow
Quoli's Shopify Flow triggers are Review submitted, Review published and Question asked, and its action sends a review request. Klaviyo connects through Shopify Flow: start a workflow with a Quoli trigger, then add a Klaviyo action such as adding the reviewer to a list.
Set your reply voice
Open Settings, then Brand, then Reply voice. Pick a tone (Formal, Casual, Playful or Premium) and add phrases QI should never use. On Advanced and Unlimited plans, Draft with QI and Answer with QI write in this voice, and every draft waits for your team to publish it.
Your first month
- Week one: install, import your reviews, add widgets and set up review requests.
- Week two: reply to new reviews and check your publishing rule.
- Week three: add Nuggets and show questions on your top product pages.
- Week four: open Analytics to see reviews collected, submission rate, media reviews and how your request emails perform.
Questions from new merchants
Will Quoli slow down my store?
Quoli widgets load through Shopify's theme app extension, so there is no script to paste into your theme. Quoli is Built for Shopify, a status that includes Shopify's storefront performance requirements.
Will my star ratings show in Google?
The Core Script adds rating data to your product pages, and Ratings in search results under Settings, then General, fills Shopify's standard product rating fields. Whether stars appear in results is up to Google.
Do I need a developer?
No. Every step in this guide is point-and-click in the Quoli admin or the Shopify theme editor.
Can I take my reviews with me?
Yes. Export your reviews to CSV at any time from Reviews, then Import / export. If you uninstall, Quoli's blocks stop showing on your storefront and nothing is left in your theme code.
